Covid-19 – Council response
Some of you may have seen that the Council released a statement earlier this week regarding our activities in relation to the coronavirus outbreak in the UK. That statement along with other information related to Council services and response to the current situation can be found here https://www.woking.gov.uk/coronavirus
We have already been contacted by many of the various sports clubs who use Council owned facilities to advise us that they are ceasing all activities for the foreseeable future. Your bowls club may have already taken this decision too, or if not be seriously considering it.
However, in the interest of public safety, and in line with current advice regarding social distancing, we are now advising that all organised group activities and events on Council owned property will not be permitted, and that this will be extended to the bowls clubs too.
As I’m sure you can all appreciate, this is a rapidly evolving situation and we will all need to adapt in line with any new government advice as and when this comes forward.
As you see above the Council have now closed all sports clubs who use Council owned facilities until further notice. The maintenance team will continue to maintain the grounds however no play will take place until further notice.
All scheduled games will need to be cancelled until further notice. The Surrey games have been already cancelled by Bowls England. Hopefully we will be able to play some games when the Council lift the restrictions.
Stay well and good health to you all.
