About Us: - We are a friendly, community-based Lawn Bowling Club, boasting a bowling green that ranks amongst the best in the area. Since 1967, the Club has been nestled in the heart of West Byfleet’s central recreational park and serves as a cornerstone of the village's community development.
Our Mission: - Our aim is to provide lawn bowling opportunities for the local community, promoting regular sporting activity, wellbeing, and social inclusion. We support bowling at all levels, from absolute beginners to skilled competition bowlers.
Facilities: -The Club offers on-site car parking facilities, making it convenient for our members to visit and enjoy the sport. Members also share the responsibility for the running and maintenance of the Bowls Club, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Membership: - Currently, the Club has 100 members across various age groups. We welcome enquiries from potential new bowlers and are always keen to introduce new players to the sport. Our support system includes several qualified coaches and a 'buddy' support system during the induction phase to ensure new members feel comfortable and supported. We have a full fixture list of friendly and league matches. Outdoor games are played mid-week and at the weekend from mid-April to the end of September. Additionally, we hold a Club Night on Monday evenings at 17:00 during the bowling season. This is a perfect opportunity for newcomers to meet our members and learn more about joining the Club.
Community Involvement: - The Club supports the Public Health England initiative of "getting every adult active every day" and has the endorsement of local GP Practices. We believe in promoting a healthy, active lifestyle through the sport of lawn bowling.
Fundraising Efforts: - At present, the Club is actively fundraising to enhance our facilities. We appreciate the support of our community and members in these efforts.
