Only completely smooth bowls shoes should be worn on the green.  Our green is our greatest asset and should be protected against dirt/grit/small stones picked up by the soles of normal trainers.  A small stone can be picked up by the mower and will cause damage to the blades.  The cost to repair the mowers can high.  Please protect the greens and play in proper bowls shoes.
